2013 INFINITI JX35 CROSSOVER

2013 Jx35 FWD

The New Jx35 Infiniti’s step towards mixing the passenger and cargo space of lager SUV’s with the efficiency and comfort of the smaller crossovers.   I think this is a great match for other luxury family SUVS.
Based on a stretched and strengthened Murano frame gives the 3rd row more room and a larger appeal. The 265hp/ 248lb-ft of torque is standard with a retuned transmission make this front wheel drive a real competitor.  Modes for the transmission like sport, Snow and eco give you good selections for whatever the day throws at you.   The CVT transmission offers the manual shift mode when you want to have a bit more fun.
I think the goal here was to compete with Cadillac offering more leg room and cargo space than the escalade.   Seems like a job well done for family luxury as every seat was roomy and comfortable while traveling.   The center seats slide forward and back to give you some extra room or access the rear seats.  The rear seats fold and recline to the point you could sleep in them.

The exterior of the JX is well crafted with swooping lines and cut wedge rear pillar.  I saw the Essence Concept back in 09 the Jx being inspired by it.    Roof rails are optional on this mode land prove to be useful.   Front fog lights and multi functional xenon High intensity discharge (HID) lights turn night into day. 20inch aluminum alloys stand out and offer a great ride.
The interior is full of Luxury and technology; from Leather appointed seats to the optional theater package which gives you duel 7inch color monitors two wireless headphones with remote and 120v power outlet for you DVD player or game system.   It is not just the passengers that are treated to all the luxury, the driver gets an 8 way power adjustable seat, 6way power for the passenger.  8inch touch screen VGA navigation system with Bose Cabin surround sound with 13 speakers give a fantastic sound quality no matter which seat you are in.

The technology package is a steal ($3,100.00) and comes with Back-up collision intervention (BCI) a heated steering wheel, remote engine start. With the Intelligent braking asset,  forward collision warning, blind spot prevention, most of all a lane departure warning & prevention system that works really well and is non intrusive.    This option is a great safety adds on if you are on lots of family trips.

Driving the JX35 feels like other Infiniti SUV’s and does not feel as big as it is.   You can see clearly to the blind spots and out the back window with a couple of passengers which makes for a great family road trip machine.  At $54,700.00 as tested this is still just under most of the competition.
