2013 Cadillac RWD Premium

Horse power: 403     -     0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds     -     v8 6.2 Liter engine     -     6 Speed Transmission

The Cadillac Escalade for years has exemplified the top of both class and luxury.  It’s the vehicle that will turn heads and make the average person ask “who is that?”  With no surprise it’s been the pride and joy of many famous stars, professional athletes, executives and high rollers.  You can catch P. Diddy, Britney Spears, Travis Barker or even Jersey Shore’s very own Snooki and Mike the Situation riding around the city in their very own escalades.  Even actor Mark Wahlberg got his Escalade pimped out by West Coast Customs from MTVs Pimp my Ride.  The Escalade is not only luxurious, but it’s sturdy, solid, and powerful.   This vehicle will outlast the apocalypse as it’s the vehicle of choice in movies Zombieland and Death Race.  The new 2013 Cadillac escalade does nothing more than push power and luxury to the next level.

The new Cadillac Escalade comes with many high end performance features that it makes it one of the preferred luxury SUVs.  Firstly under the hood you’ll find a powerful and thirsty 6.2 L V8 Vortec engine.  Pushing out 403 horsepower with 417 lbs of torque, this is no casual toy.  This SUV goes to defy logic by being able to do 0 to 60 in about 6.5 seconds while still weighing over 6000 pounds.  It can outperform the much lighter and smaller 2012 Mercendez-Benz C300 Sports Sedan.  Let’s not forget that at 3 tons this vehicle is heavy, but you would never know it based on how it feels and drives.  The Hydra-Matic automatic 6 speed transmission paired with Magnetic suspension and an upgraded brake system leaves you with a ride that is surprisingly very smooth with a rumble that feels like a muscle car.

For its mass and size this SUV is very well balanced, and still comfortably capable of those tight turns you might be weary of when you have a 17 foot (5 meters) vehicle.  The magnetic suspension adjusts at 1000 times a second to control you’re ride and safety.   The newly upgraded brakes are powerfully responsive and leave you forgetting that you’re driving a massive luxury tank especially when you slow down.  Exclusive 22 inch rims make you feel like you’re on top of the world and give you a safe sense of control for both the road and vehicle.  This vehicle and it’s high performance power and luxury has its trade off though in terms of gas mileage.  With this vehicle you can only expect to get 16 miles per gallon.  However if you don’t mind to tradeoff some horse power there is a hybrid version available of this same vehicle that will get you 21 miles per gallon.

Gas mileage is the last thing one would think about after seeing what gorgeous luxury entails inside.  For many the most appealing aspect of this luxury ride has to be the spacious three rows of beautifully done leather seats that can make most rides feel like you’re being executively chauffeured.  Not to mention an adjustable tri climate zone, front and second row heated seats, a pull down TV and DVD player, paired with 10 speakers of Bose 5.1 surround sound.  This vehicle makes any large outing with friends or family luxurious on top of being spacious, and convenient.  We took the Escalade out for Halloween night in downtown Raleigh being able to comfortably fit eight with no problem, four of which were taller than 6”4.  The driver is the one that gets the most from this luxury vehicle.  Power seats with a lot of headspace.  An Excellent and open view of the road.  But of course there is all the fun electronic goodies that put one in control.  The Navigation system that comes with Cadillac’s CUE technology on a eight inch touch screen gives you the portal for everything you could possibly need.  One key component is the ability to integrate with any iPod or smartphone through Bluetooth.  You can find conveniently placed USB  and Auxiliary ports for ease of access.  As the driver you can enjoy fully heated seated heats and the touch of a heated steering wheel.

Powerful.  Luxurious.  But let’s not forget safe.  This SUV carries an overall 4 star crash rating with many features that put it ahead on safety.  The magnetic suspension adjusting at 1/1000th of a second gives you a controlled smooth ride that also protects from roll overs.  A crisp and high quality rear view camera gives you full visibility of everything behind you.  Just as well the camera has built in park assist technology that makes fitting in the tightest of spots possible.  And for those blind spots that sneak up on you there is a side blink zone alert system.
