2012 Nissan Rogue SV FWD

At first glance the Rogue looks like a Mini Murano but they couldn’t be more apart. This Crossover is 3,000lb CUV for the all around town driver. The front wheel drive offers good traction and no torque steer. When driving it drives more like a Nissan car sitting higher with a better view of the world. I especially like the 18” Alloy wheels and 225 tires giving a nice stance and appeal. The HID xenon are fantastic at night combined with the manual levelizer gives you a great view of what is going on.

Nissan seems to have a idea of driving comfort it sits nicely going down the highway and the CVT transmission does its job very well.  The cabin noise is minimal but enough to tell you what the cars is doing.   Driving most crossovers I find the Rogue has great breaking from the 4 wheel vented disc brakes.  The 2.5l DOHC 170hp engine is enough to get you around town and sport mode will get you there a little quicker and holds the RPMS higher.   The front wheel drive works well around NC and if you are in areas of snow or sleet you might like the AWD.  The AWD might hurt the SV’s Miles per gallon with the added weight but 23 mpg city/ 28 mpg highway is pretty respectable for the FWD SV.

The interior is pleasant with not much going on to distract you.   The rear seats have a bit more room than I thought they would and fit me pretty well.  It is pretty luxurious with the leather seats and leather wrapped steering wheel.  Nissan has always made great nav systems and I am always wondering what they will do next. The SV features a rear backup camera along with a 360 view of what's happening  on the outside of the car.   Bose is the only fitting sound system for this CUV as it is luxury and quality sound.  6 way adjustable driver seat and 4-way adjustable passenger can suit anyone and make them feel comfortable.

With the SV Package you come in just under $30,000.00.  A price fitting for the extras and luxury items, fitted to the Rogue.  Safety is well beyond most other in its class.  Driver & front passenger, side-impact & curtain airbags.  Front seat active head restraints and a energy absorbing steering column.   Four stars in rollover and 4 stars for driver frontal crash is respectable based on other vehicles of its size and weight.
