2012 GMC Terrain

FWD SLT-2

The GMC Terrain is a Family CUV based off the platform of the Chevy equinox.  Most of the platform sharing vehicles are identical or bland with different badges.  The Terrain has different body panels and is geared for other buyers.  Fender flares are always a great appeal on a SUV or Truck.  This Terrain has the Exterior Chrome package which is very tasteful and includes door handles, mirrors, roof rack side rails, chrome rear skid plates, 18” inch chrome Clad aluminum rims.

Driving the Terrain is smooth with not much body roll.  The 3.0L DOHC V6 SIDI is well powered for a family CUV.  There is just enough to get you into traffic and despite its weight stops smooth and quick.  The steering made maneuvering easy as it was very responsive and not too heavy.  The 6-speed automatic transmission shifts smooth and delivers a quick downshift when you squeeze the gas.  I ranged 19 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway not too shabby and you can expect close to 400 miles to a tank.

The interior is very spacious and found the back seat to fit an adult comfortably for long trips.  The 7 inch color touch screen, CD/MP3 player works well and was very easy to use.  The sound quality from the premium 8-speaker system had some quality notes and found myself just sitting in the Terrain enjoying my Mp3 player through the AUX port.  The leather appointed 8-way power adjustable driver seat offered great comfort and support.

The 2012 GMC Terrain is the 2011 Top Safety pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.  Dual frontal/side impact airbags and driver passenger side curtain airbags with rollover protection helped achieved this.  I have tested a lot of vehicles and GM really cares about our safety every GM I have been in was way more equipped than other vehicles in its class.
