2012 DODGE CHARGER SRT8

When Dodge showed us the new Charger people were cheering, a piece of American Muscle history was back.  I saw the 2012 SRT-8 and I heard those people cheering.  I was at the auto show all over again.

The Aggressive front fascia and raised hood, sleek body lines and rear spoiler says fast when sitting still.  Everything on the outside screams  muscle from the 20 Inch SRT Performance wheels, 16inch Brembo brakes, Duel exhaust matched with the body lines; it almost makes your heart stop.   A 6.4l Hemi V-8 gives you the grunt worthy of the looks.   It will rocket to 60 in under 5 seconds, fast enough to be  given a Richard Petty Driving Experience when you buy the car so you can tame this beast on the road.

Driving the SRT-8 is very easy and its size it not even noticeable behind the wheel, you feel more like a sports car with some extra seats.   The Hemi is heard best on the inside and really adds to the enjoyment of driving this machine.   Everyday driving is fun with people stopping to take pictures or to hear it rev up.   The SRT cornered well beyond that of a 4door sedan as I constantly tried to best it but it held up asking for more.  A lot of this is due to the engineering with 3 mode Electric Stability control, all speed traction control and Performance tuned Steering.   This is not the Charger I thought it would be and the SRT team deserves a handshake for bringing back the Muscle car.

Two-toned interior is becoming a staple for Dodge and it is a very pretty feature with its red and black Sport leather bucket seats.  I found every seat to be very comfortable and hold you great under speeds.   I think the best feature though is the technology of the Uconnect Touch 8.4n.  This system has many customizable features and data loggers. Your track days might just be spent playing with it instead of driving.   This system is something you only read about in cars 3 times the price.   All the seats are heated so all your passengers can be comfortable.   Heated and cooled cup holders kept my Soda cool during the last heat wave.   19 Speaker SRT High performance audio sounded great no matter what kind of music I was listening too.  Though I could not find all the speakers I do believe they are there with the clarity in which it sounded.

The options seem to be endless and this one was well fitted.  Blind spot and rear cross path detection actually helped me from getting to close when I backed into a spot as the car is bigger than it feels.  Rain sensitive wipers took me by surprise when we got splashed by a puddle and they came on.   I don’t think I have ever said this ,but every option you can get for The Charger SRT-8 is Useful and worth every cent, and the cost of one is very reasonable.    $50,260 with options is a great deal for a performance vehicle you can take the family out in.
